Healthy Granola Recipe
This healthy granola recipe makes a delicious cereal with my all time favorite, almond milk. Add some bananas to it... mmm! What I love about granola is its natural sweetness and the fruits you can add to it. Granola tastes phenomenal in homemade applesauce with banana. It is to die for! As well as it being as tasty as it is, making your own granola is also cheaper and healthier!
Granola makes a great base for your a mix of your favorite nuts and dried fruits. I love making my own because most granola's don't have exactly everything I like.
Some things you can add to your granola:
- dried aprictos
- dried plums
- dryed dates
- dried apple
- macadamia nuts
- sunflower seeds
Ingredients for the base granola:
- 3 cups old fashioned rolled oats
- 2 tbsp cinnamon
- 1/3 cup agave
- 1/4 cup oil
- 2 tsp vanilla
Step 1: Preheat oven to 300.
Step 2: In a large bowl combine the oats, cinnamon, vanilla, agave, and oil. Use a large spoon to mix it up real good.
Step 3: Spread the oats evenly on a baking sheet. Plop into the oven stirring after 15 minutes. Bake until golden brown, which should take about 20-30 minutes. If you like your granola a bit crunchier with a toastier flavor leave it in a bit longer but don't let it burn . It gets burnt pretty quickly, take it from me! No bueno.
Step 4: Chop your favorite nuts and add to your delicious healthy granola along with your favorite dried fruits. Normally, I like to add 2 cups of nuts and seeds, 1 cup of raisins, and a half a cup of craisins to every 3 cups of oats. Enjoy your homemade granola cereal!
