    When you are truly eating healthy you do not have to spend time and energy worrying about how many calories you are consuming; counting calories is only necessary on the Standard American Diet. When you observe how many people die every year of chronic disease in America, it becomes obvious that something needs to change!

    When websites claim to have healthy breakfast recipes while feeling the need to list the calories and nutritional facts, watch out! They may look healthy because they are low in calories, but calories are your friend! Calorie literally means energy, and you need energy! The only kind of energy that needs restricting comes from animals. Our body isn't made to digest animal based foods. Humans are natural herbivores.

    When you stop consuming animal products there is no need to worry about counting calories! When following a vegan diet you eat until you are full, lose weight, feel great, live longer, and have an abundance of energy!

    To tell how healthy a recipe is, look no further than the ingredients. Any "healthy breakfast recipes" that call for eggs or milk are not healthy!1-2

    Watch out for refined sugar, substitute it with raw unpasteurized honey, nature's sweetener. Although high in sugar, raw honey has vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and enzymes to help with digestion. White and brown sugar have none of these benefits. When honey is pasteurized, just like cooking vegetables, it looses 50-80% of its nutrients and all of its digestive enzymes, but is still a healthier choice than refined sugar.

    The best oil to use is cold pressed virgin coconut oil. Any time a food is heated over 118° F (48° C) it loses nutrients. For this same reason you should only buy Celtic sea salt.

    Remember, the best recipes require, at the most, small amounts of sweetener, oil, and salt. Most of the time sugar, fat, and salt are only needed to make low quality food taste better.
